I’m from New York Metropolis. In New York, you can wear whatsoever you want, and no person will bat an eye. When I moved to a small city a handful of months again, I stored my New York style feeling, and it didn’t translate perfectly at all.

The locals in the town where by I live now give me dirty appears each individual working day. An individual always has a little something to say about my outfits (mostly damaging issues). I like dressing up, but I’m ill of the glares and rude remarks.

What really should I do?

New Town

Pricey NEW Town: Because people today who reside in New York Metropolis occur from all walks of lifetime, there is a convergence of variations there that fairly by natural means potential customers to a distinctive stage of acceptance than in quite a few other locations. You have transplanted into a far more homogeneous local community that has its own set of values and traditions.

If you want to dwell harmoniously there, you may well have to have to think about how to modify your individual presentation a bit to slash down on the glares and snipes. Or you can make a decision that how you are is fantastic and quit noticing their judgment. Your perspective about you is what you can management. If you thoroughly embrace your uniqueness and prevent making it possible for their views to influence you, over time they may more fully welcome you.
